From 1977 to 1979, along with my brothers and friends, I spent a lot of time at this corrugated-metal structure on Chicago Road in Warren, Mich. At the time it was Village Racquet Club, and it was the tennis boom, so the place was open 24 hours a day. It fell into industrial use after the boom went bust, but now it’s back to its sports roots as a training center for volleyball, football and other sports.
