Types Of Sports Training Aids

The old adage, practice makes perfect, is true throughout all industries, sports, and parts of life. Many of us hope to be very skill at various sports, but it is not always easy to organize pick-up games with friends. With busy schedules, it is often difficult to make it to the gym during normal business hours, so we are stuck shooting hoops on our own or throwing a baseball in the air, with no way of knowing what we’re doing wrong, or how to improve our game. With sports training aids, you can have 24-hour access to all the sports training equipment imaginable. There are so many different training aids that you can practice regardless of your friends’ and teammates’ schedules. The training aids help improve your skills while eliminating human error of practicing with others. They are a great addition to any individual or team oriented training plan, for youths and adults alike. Baseball trainers are not limited to the standard pitching machines that are commonly found at the batting cage. There are also swing trainers, training bats, pitch backs, practice nets, reaction balls and more to hone every aspect of your game. Baseball trainer materials are not just for hitters anymore. If you are a catcher, check out a reaction ball. Its unique shape forces it to bounce in various directions to increase your hand-eye coordination, and decrease your reaction time. Basketball training aids are much more advanced than you might expect. While some of the aids might seem like toys, they are also very valuable practice equipment items. Ball return systems are great for practicing for foul shots. The ball return nets and 180 degree shoot around ball returns send the ball right back to you. You can also install a covering to your rim that makes an 18-inch rim 15 inches or even smaller. This increases your shooting accuracy by forcing you to find the center of the hoop, and perfecting your arc. There are many other sports training aids available for kids to play with, athletes to train with, and adults to enjoy. Relieve a little stress, hone your skills, or develop new techniques with friends with some of the many different sports trainer tools available.

Question by doug02346: is it possible to post something unindexed to wikipedia?
I just started in marketing at a company that makes sports training aids. The product has been around for 20 years, but is pretty much unknown. How do I get it indexed in wikipedia?

Answer by My Wiki Business
I would search Google for:

wikipedia expert editing consulting and speaking

Then, look at the first non-Wikipedia result that you get. That should put you on the right track to speak to someone who might be able to counsel you on this difficult problem you’re having.

Great aide for keeping hands in correct position, January 28, 2007

I had used this item with an instructor and it was easy to see and feel the correct position of the hands/arms in the backswing. He said it was the only aide he recommends for purchase, even though there are many, many types on the market. I can see why this is all you need to correct a misalignment of the hands in the backswing. It is easy to attach to the club for practice, using it is easy and after a short time, there is no need to continue as the hand position becomes automatic… Money well spent!

    Outstanding Product!, November 12, 2008

This is the first review I have ever given a golf product. My swing was slowly self destructing this year. I developed a fade that was getting worse and worse. After realizing that it was not the clubs, I tried a couple different training aids. Finally, I saw the reviews on the swingyde. I ordered it and tried it. At first, it was not correcting my swing and then I realized that I was not following the directions. After watching the DVD and reading the instructions again, I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. Shortly after, I was swinging perfectly. In a nutshell, this device puts you in a great position on the takeaway and then also puts you in a perfect position at the finish. For those of us who have trouble “releasing the club”, this is the answer. After 20 minutes, my muscles started memorizing the swing path. I have now been using it daily for 20 minutes a night inside (which is very relaxing after the kids go to bed). This swingyde is the real deal and I am telling my family and friends about it. I had a question and emailed the creator of the swingyde in Australia and he emailed me back the same day. He is a great guy and very helpful. I can’t recommend it enough!

The turn-off is the price, but I don’t regret buying it. I keep it attached to a spare club. This aid helps me focus on a flat left wrist at the top of my backswing. Then, it helps me develop lag by remaining in contact with my forearm during my downswing. In the follow thru, it helps keep my swing on-plane by coming back in contact with my forearm. I buy training aids & do drills to improve my game. After a few months with a product, I’ll sell it on craigslist. I’ll sell the Swingyde, when I stop playing golf.

I was originally looking at a Callaway branded impact bag but came across this one. It’s pretty much the least expensive impact bag I’ve found so I went for it. The material is pretty beefy and looks like it’s going to take a decent pounding. I ended up filling it with old sheets, shirts, leftovers from slutty ex-girlfriends, old underwear, etc…. It’s been great, if not for just being able to swing my 6 iron at something while at home. If you’re doing the drill properly it will help you feel your club face position at impact. After having used it for a couple hundred swings now, I think I might get more use out of doing what the other reviewer recommended and filling it with bird feed. That would solve the problem of having to reposition the bag after each swing and allow for a better indicator of your club face at impact. FYI – depending on how much you practice, you’re going to go through at least 2 per year so cheaper is better. I don’t think the other ones that cost more will last any longer.

If you’re looking for a golf impact training bag, this fits the bill. Fill it with 40 lbs of bird seed (Amazon sells Brown’s Nature’s Banquet Good Blend Wild Bird Food in a 40 lb bag) and you’re ready to go.

I just began playing golf in May ’09 and my instructor suggested I buy an impact bag to help me develop a strong, straight swing. I waited for a few months and strugled with the dreaded slice and fade. I was beginning to get the feel for a proper impact but was still strugling. After I got the SKLZ bag and worked with it for a few days, I saw my ball starting to fly straight where I was aiming. No more adjusting my stance and aim point for me. Parallel left and I’m on my way. I also added about 10 to 15 yards to my woods and long irons.
